It will come as no surprise to learn that Norwich is the home of some 2,700 Fellowship members, making us the largest area in the Fellowship, with an age range spanning from the early 50s to a few of our members having reached the remarkable age of 100 plus.  It must be the Norfolk air.

For those of you who are not familiar with the county of Norfolk, Norwich itself is a beautiful city encompassing both the old and the new, e.g. Norwich Cathedral at over 900 years old, boasts the second tallest spire in England. The Norman Castle museum and art gallery which is one of our most famous landmarks, houses a fine art collection (Cotman, Crome to name but a two) as well as a superb natural history and archaeological section.

Dragon Hall is a Grade 1 listed medieval building which can also be hired for weddings and functions.

We must not forget the beautiful cobbled streets of Elm Hill and the Lanes and the Royal Arcade built in 1899 which houses the famous Colmans Mustard shop.

On the “new” side, we now have one of the largest Marks & Spencer shops outside London which was extended and modernised last year as well as the Chapelfield and Castle mall shopping centres.

The Forum, built for the Millennium, houses not only the library, but also BBC East, TIC, Pizza Express etc and holds free exhibitions throughout the year. Just outside Norwich, of course, is the Sainsbury Centre designed by Norman Foster which has both permanent and special exhibitions.

Then there is the rest of Norfolk, beautiful beaches and open skies, the Broads and its wildlife, forests, cycle paths, footpaths and all the quaint market and seaside towns too numerous to mention.
